Healthy Fish: The online aquaculture training program

App Healthy Fish is an Erasmus+ funded programme whose objective is to develop a standardised training program at European level for the aquaculture sector, which includes the training modules for the qualification of the professionals. It also includes training content required to train the staff in health and welfare skills and in the physical chemical control of fish.

The project consortium is led by the Spanish Marine Fish Farming Association (APROMAR) and four partners:

  • The Certification & Quality Company SGS TECNOS (Spain)
  • The Italian Aquaculture Association API (Associazione Piscicoltori Italiani)
  • The Turkish University Dokuz Eylul University
  • The Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE)

In 2015, the project partners identified a common need in the aquaculture sector: to professionalise this aquaculture sector and improve its competitiveness through the standardisation and innovation of training at European level and the development of the necessary contents to train the staff in health and welfare skills using new technologies.

Thus, App Healthy Fish began in November 2015, funded by the action “Strategic Partnerships” of the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, specifically the KA2: “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices”
