ClipFlair is a web platform for foreign language learning through interactive revoicing and captioning clips. It offers activities in 15 languages to include in a course or use independently.
Using audiovisual material in the foreign language classroom is a common resource for teachers since it introduces variety, provides exposure to non-verbal cultural elements and, most importantly, presents linguistic and cultural aspects of communication in their context. However, teachers using this resource face the difficulty of finding active tasks that would engage learners and discourage passive viewing.
One way of working with AV material in a productive and motivating way is to ask learners to revoice (e.g. dub) or caption (e.g. subtitle) a video clip (film scene, documentary, news piece, animation, song etc).
ClipFlair will develop exercises and activities, framed in lesson plans, which will enable foreign language learners to practice all four skills: writing, speaking, listening and reading.
Increase your students' motivation by introducing innovative activities to complement your course programme. Choose an activity from the Gallery, or create your own with the Studio. If you would like your activity to be included in the Gallery, post it at the Feedback Forum. Each activity in the Gallery has its unique URL which you can share, e-mail, post or tweet.
Add fun to your learning experience. Choose an activity from the Gallery using the filters for the language you want to practice and your level. You can even create your own activities!
You can find activities for Arabic, Basque, Catalan, Chinese, English, Estonian, Greek, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian.

The revoicing and captioning tools are available in the Studio, the area authors use to create activities. These are stored in the Gallery, together with clips and other materials. The heart of ClipFlair is the Social Network, hosting a Community of learners and teachers with a passion for films and language learning.
